With any defibrillation program, it is imperative to work with your community's EMS personnel and other safety officials. Notify the local EMS office when new AEDs are purchased, and specify the type and location of each new AED. This information helps prepare EMS personnel before they arrive at the site of an emergency, and helps ensure a smooth, seamless, and timely handoff of care.
