The mission statement summarizes the overall purpose of your defibrillation program and the specific goals that the task force will face. This statement helps ensure that the task force remains focused on its many projects. Depending on your community's current status pertaining to a defibrillation program, these goals may include to:
Create public awareness about SCA and the role of early defibrillation
Raise enough money to purchase a specific number of AED units, and to start a training program
Deploy units in predetermined locations (e.g., municipal buildings, recreation centers)
Improve training programs
Encourage lay public to seek CPR and AED training
Equip all first responder vehicles with AEDS
