Compose a Statement of Need

While your mission statement is an internal document that guides your progress, a statement of need informs an external audience about your goals. This short document defines the problem of sudden cardiac arrest, relates how many people it affects in your community (ask your local EMS personnel for specific data), and explains why an early defibrillation program is essential. You could include SCA survival statistics from communities who have already implemented successful programs, to further demonstrate how early defibrillation can save lives.
